Dorkinian 1st XI 1 v 0 Wandsworth Borough
Pixham, 19/04/25
The difficult run-in of fixtures continued for Dorkinians who managed to navigate a typically tricky Wandsworth Borough side, earning a deserved victory after a series of near misses in previous weeks.
Charlie Woodman's second-half free kick goal was enough to separate the two sides in the final home fixture hosted at Fortress Pixham this season. Archie Mansfield continued his own rich vein of form since returning from injury with a tireless Man of the Match performance in the middle of the park. Also of note was the long overdue return of Tan King, who slotted back into the side like he’d never been away. Although 6 months of traveling in South-East Asia had obviously taken its toll, as he lasted only 60 minutes before being hooked by Stoney.
Dorkinians continue to look up the table, pursuing as higher finish as possible to finish their impressive season on a high. They travel next week to Richardson Evans Memorial Playing Fields for the first of two consecutive trips, as they face off against a Rob Roy Rovers side sitting one spot above in second place.
