1s Prove Too Strong for Old Hamptonians in Convincing Win

Dorkinian 1st XI 7 v 0 Old Hamptonians

Dorkinian 1st XI maintained pressure on the AFC Premier Division league leaders with a confident victory over Old Hamptonians. Aware of the threat that OH presented, Dorks weathered periods of pressure in their third with Painter and Lynn proving imperious again, before the attacking unit struck effectively on the counter-attack. Phil Robinson opened the scoring with a goal of the season contender, unleashing a clean hit from the near the touchline and 40 yards out to beat the retreating goalkeeper.

Jonny Walton was next as he pressed OH’s last defender and goalkeeper, creating confusion that allowed him to walk the ball into the unoccupied net. A George Warne header from a corner and Liam Hawkins smart lobbed finish rounded off the first half score with Dorkinians 4 goals ahead.

Similar to the first half OH continued to threaten keeping Dorkinians honest. However as the second period continued Dorks ascendancy began to shine through, with Robinson adding a second and Hawkins completing a hat-trick with two well taken goals. The game finished seven-nil to Dorkinians who feel well placed to take on unbeaten league leaders HAC next week at Kings House School, Chiswick.
