Dorkinian 2s March On
Fresh off last week’s impressive away victory, Dorkinian 2s returned home to face Clissold Park Rangers, another tough opponent on yet another mud-soaked battlefield. But from the first whistle to the last, Dorkinians dictated the game, sealing a dominant 3-1 win in a performance full of control, composure, and class.

The action ignited early as Scovell played a pinpoint pass to Goddard, who burst through on goal, only to be spear tackled by the onrushing keeper—a questionable no penalty call, and a limping winger for the rest of the game. But Dorkinians didn’t let it faze them. Turner picked out Wise, who rifled home with power to make it 1-0. As halftime approached, Wise struck again, his shot taking a deflection in a goalmouth scramble—the perfect moment to double the lead.

The second half was measured and controlled, with the backline of Turner, Carvey, Higgins, and MOTM Smith standing firm. Smith, in particular, was outstanding, combining defensive resilience with surging attacking runs. In midfield, Harcombe bossed the game, setting the tempo with relentless energy and smart distribution alongside his midfield companions of Charman, Lucas and Mansfield. With 20 minutes left, Goddard danced past three defenders, his strike parried into the path of Teague, who buried the rebound for 3-0. A late Clissold consolation goal flattered the visitors, but this was Dorkinians’ game from start to finish.

A statement win in tough conditions. Dorkinian 2s continue their charge up the table—title dreams very much alive. They’ve got it in the locker!
