Fantastic Result for the 3s!

The 3s delivered a superb performance today, overcoming a long layoff since early December and three previous postponements. Expectations of a sluggish start were quickly proven wrong as the team hit the ground running, showcasing sharp control and composure from the outset. Their application and attitude were exemplary, with excellent shape, confident possession, and a positive energy that made for an enjoyable afternoon.

Although their first goal was disallowed for offside, the 3s remained composed and continued to dominate proceedings. Their persistence paid off when some slick combination play earned them a corner. Daz whipped in a perfect delivery, and the powerful Rob Fitz bundled it home to give the team a 1-0 lead at halftime.

The opposition adjusted their shape after the break, leading to a slower start to the second half. However, the 3s adapted brilliantly, growing into the game and reclaiming control. Their pressing game reaped rewards when Travis applied relentless pressure on the opposing goalkeeper, forcing a mistake and drawing a foul inside the box. Mr. Reliable, MM8, stepped up to the spot and confidently converted the penalty to double the lead.

The third goal was a moment of brilliance. Kizza, showing determination and awareness, dispossessed the centre-back and, spotting the keeper off his line, unleashed an audacious long-range lob that sailed into the net.

It was a fantastic start to the year and a thoroughly deserved win, securing the 3s a spot in the next round of the Surrey County Cup. A performance full of grit, quality, and confidence that sets the tone for the challenges ahead.
